We offer long-term volunteer positions (6 months to 1 year) in which volunteers live and work in Tijuana. Generally, long-term volunteers assist in coordinating volunteer groups and the families in house building through FEM’s Community Program. Ability to speak Spanish is required since one of the functions is to help with communication between the volunteers and the families. They also organize and accompany the volunteer groups in a variety of activities to enrich their experience in Tijuana. There are other tasks within the organization in which a long-term volunteer may participate, like: managing the website, English classes, etc. This is an opportunity to better experience the culture of Tijuana, to better understand the complex issues surrounding the border region, to develop your own leadership skills, and, most importantly, work towards greater social justice.
Please inquire with the following people for more information on how you may volunteer with Esperanza Mexico. FEM.
