  1. All US citizens re-entering the US from Mexico by air, by sea or by land (car, bus, on foot) as of January 2008 will need a valid US passport.
  2. All US citizens re-entering the US from Mexico by air and by sea as of January 2007 will need a valid US passport.
  3. All US citizens re-entering the US from Mexico by land (car, bus, on foot) in 2007 will require a valid government-issued photo ID (like a driver’s license).  Passport for this type of re-entry in 2007 is not required.  However it is strongly recommend as the favored form of ID.
  4. For all non-US citizens, please consult the State Department and the individuals Consulate, not only for re-entry in the US but also for rules to enter Mexico.
