SDSU class partners with Esperanza

GEN S 350 (section 2) is a new general studies course for Spring 2009, which includes a 9-day international experience south of the border in La Gloria, Mexico!
The semester course will be held at SDSU on Tuesdays from 4:00 - 6:40 pm. Topics will include:
- historical aspects of international health and human services
- economic development and health and social science
- nutrition in a developing country
- globalization, health, and HIV/AIDS
During the 9-day field experience portion, participants will be residing in "The Posada" which is owned and operated by Esperanza Mexico, the non-profit organization the class works with while staying south of the border, which hosts groups of students in an immersive experience exposing them to the medical, social service, environmental and cultural aspects of this underserved community.The class will be offered again in March of 2010.
